Cats

My eyes, pure as the snow. My fur, the color of dead leaves. Mark my territory with the claws; the scent of danger, leap away. Chase off the night, with the sound of a faint heartbeat. Collapsing in the moonlight, my owner lays motionless on the floor, colored red in the darkness. There was nothing I could do, in the view of white eyes. Happiness shut away by reality, I am no longer domesticated.

Wandering the streets, I knew nothing of what I was searching for. A new owner? A reason to continue living? Had I been a dog, would I have been able to protect my owner? All I could do was run away with my tail in between my legs. The moment the lustrous silver blade struck the being, the blood burned dark red with disgust. It was already too late for me to do anything. Then, the figure I saw at the alleyway looked just like him so I chased after it. Turning around a corner, a large figure overshadowed me. Looking up, all I could see was a malicious smile and an intimidating lure..

Crack. There went my right arm. A slow-effecting sharp pain then a twisted bone which dug into my lung. I felt pathetic; my owner needed my help yet all I could do was watch as I lost him. Now I’m being attacked and all I can do is cower before those superior than me. Even if my arm was broken, I still had my teeth and my papillae on my tongue. So I cut off the attacks by my fangs and severed my pain with my anger. Then, snap! My body crumbled under the pressure of being slammed into the wall. My consciousness fades to black..

I woke to the light that seeped into the cracks of my closed eyes. And saw a figure looking down at me. Afraid that it was my attacker, I tried to get up, but an excruciating pain that rang throughout my body didn’t allow me to. Paralyzed, I was paralyzed from the attacks. Voices, I heard voices talking in a language that I could not understand only such few words. Shiny, a shiny object was pointing my way. It had a very thin tip and was slightly bulky and had weird lines and numbers on a tube, together with a pressing part at the end. I wanted to move away, but all I could do was hiss at it. It made its way behind me and then I felt a gentle yet firm pressure at the back of my head, then a poking sensation at my neck. I felt dizzy almost immediately when whatever they inserted in me took effect. I laid my head down on the cold, bare tabletop. Everything became a blur. A sudden feeling of exhaustion came over me. Colors fused with one another before I closed my eyes. Drawing one last breathe, I relaxed my entire body as I drifted to sleep.
